George Kakaletris, owner of ICS Performance in Stamford, CT was surfing the internet one day and came across this:
The Texas Mile: One Mile. No Speed Limit. No Ticket. No Kidding. For a guy in the automotive performance business, this wasn't just a teaser. This was a mission. George and his crew headed to Texas for the May 2011 Texas Mile. Their secret weapon? A black 1999 BMW M Coupe.
George and his team at ICS do general automotive service work, but they also specialize in custom tuning that takes performance way beyond bolt-on. George calls the BMW Coupe: Satan - The She Devil because of the sheer heat and power that she packs. They slapped the numbers 666 on her and lined her up at the starting grid.
With a 3.0 Liter Built ICS Spec Cylinder, Custom Valve Train, Custom Camshafts, Custom ICS Twin Turbo GT3071R's, Tec #R Sias Tuning, 6 Speed Euro Tranny, CM Twin Disc FX700 and ICS Custom Fuel kit, Kris D'agastino drove the She Devil #666 BMW M coupe past the 200+ mph mark with a best pass of 200.3 mph. And that was with a steady, 20-30 mph headwind.
An impressive performance for the first time at The Texas Mile! The 200.3 mph earned George and Kris the current track record for the fastest BMW automobile at the new Texas Mile venue at Chase Field in Beeville. Congratulations to George and Kris and the ICS team. Next stop for them? The October Texas Mile, Oct. 21-23rd, 2011 in Beeville where they have set their sites on the 220 mph mark in #666.
